On October 1, EuroChamber Mongolia organized and moderated the session “Positioning Mongolia as a Leading Trade, Investment, and Tourism Hub” at the CAREC Business Forum 2026, held in Ulaanbaatar to mark the 25th anniversary of the CAREC Program.
The session examined Mongolia’s broader economic outlook and the opportunities to strengthen the country’s position as a competitive destination for trade, investment, and tourism across the CAREC region and beyond.
The lead speaker, Ms. Zandan Bilegt from Invest Mongolia, provided an overview of Mongolia’s economic landscape, with particular focus on the Economic Freedom Law and its relevance to the country’s business and investment environment.
The discussion was enriched by perspectives from a diverse panel representing key sectors of Mongolia’s economy:

Bayarsaikhan Otgonbayar, Head of International Banking Department, Худалдаа хөгжлийн банк / Trade and Development Bank
Tugsbayar Erdenekhuu, CEO, Yaks and Yurts LLC

The panel explored practical perspectives from manufacturing, finance, tourism, nature-based business, and logistics, highlighting both the opportunities and considerations for positioning Mongolia as a more connected and competitive regional hub.
EuroChamber Mongolia was proud to facilitate this dialogue and bring together government and private-sector perspectives on how Mongolia can strengthen its economic potential, attract investment, expand trade, and develop its tourism sector.
