Japan Tobacco International

JTI (Japan Tobacco International) is the international tobacco business of Japan Tobacco Group. It was established in 1999 when the JT Group acquired R.J. Reynolds’ operations outside the US. It has more than 46,000 employees and operates in over 130 countries, with headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. In 2007 it expanded further by acquiring the tobacco manufacturer Gallaher. Its main brands include Winston, Camel, MEVIUS and LD. Its newer product range includes Ploom heated tobacco, Logic vapes and Nordic Spirit nicotine pouches. JTI states that it aims to develop products with the potential to reduce the risks of smoking and to drive sustainability across its value chain.
