Aspire Mining Limited/Khurgatai Khairkhan

Aspire Mining Limited is an Australian-listed exploration and development company focused on developing high-quality premium coking coal resources in Mongolia. The company aims to create long-term value for shareholders while contributing to the economic development of local communities.

Mongolia is a strategically important location for coking coal, given its proximity to major markets including China, Russia, Japan and South Korea. Aspire’s projects are located in the Orkhon-Selenge Coal Basin in northern Mongolia, an area with significant coal resources and potential for future development.

Aspire’s flagship Ovoot Coking Coal Project is one of Mongolia’s largest coking coal projects. The company holds a 100% interest in Ovoot, which has 255 million tonnes of JORC Coal Reserves and the potential to produce up to 10 million tonnes of saleable coking coal per year over an estimated 21-year mine life. The company also holds a 90% interest in the Nuurstei Coking Coal Project and a 100% interest in the Myangan Coal Project, providing Aspire with a portfolio of coal assets across northern Mongolia.

A key part of Aspire’s development strategy is improving infrastructure and market access for its projects. The proposed Erdenet–Ovoot railway would connect the Ovoot project to Mongolia’s existing rail network and form part of the Northern Rail Corridor linking Mongolia with neighbouring markets.Through the development of its projects and supporting infrastructure, Aspire aims to contribute to Mongolia’s mining, infrastructure and regional economic development while creating sustainable long-term value for its stakeholders.
