On January 23, 2025, EuroChamber Sustainability and Energy Working Group held its January meeting, featuring a presentation titled “Wildlife Conservation in Mongolia: WCS’s 2030 Strategy” by Dr. Justine Shanti Alexander, Country Director of the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) in Mongolia.
Dr. Alexander highlighted her team’s efforts in protecting Mongolia’s unique biodiversity, with a particular focus on the Khulan and snow leopard, which face increasing threats from the rapid expansion of infrastructure, such as railroads cutting through their natural habitats. She also presented WCS’s 2030 Strategy to the participants and addressed their questions.
The Sustainability & Energy Working Group is chaired by Ms. Batzul Gerelsaikhan, Head of the Properties Department at Erel Group, and co-chaired by Dr. Oliver Schnorr, Chairman of Sainshand Wind Park.
