On July 2nd, 2024, EuroChamber Mongolia hosted its International Trade Working Group meeting at the headquarters of Capitron Bank.
Mrs. Klaartje Genbrugge, International Trade Chair, warmly welcomed all attendees and provided a brief recap of the previous meeting, highlighting discussions on the effects of sanctions on trade, logistics, and companies. Ms. Chimedlkham Bayarsaikhan, Co-chair, delivered an insightful presentation on the impact of sanctions against Russia on Mongolia’s financial landscape. She covered the effects on Mongolian banks, financial institutions, insurance companies, and businesses, discussed compliance challenges, and offered strategies for mitigation. Mr. Yeruult Sukhbaatar, CEO of GG Retail, spoke about strategies for adapting supply chains in response to sanctions, including logistical adjustments and the use of technology solutions to enhance resilience.
The meeting concluded with a brief networking session, allowing members to discuss the topics further and exchange ideas. Thank you to all who attended and contributed to the discussion.
